Letters From The Prez...
NEBA of Massachusetts

We lucked out at Watuppa. It was a hot day but the rain held. The pictures are up on the web and have attached the stats to this mailing. We started the morning with the Rhode Island invasion. There was a small bootleg club with 5 or 6 boats that came in and tried to cirmcumvent the system. After some debate, I explained to them we had have to play by the same rules. Paul Grzyb made it clear that the ramp was ours till 7:00am. I explained to the group if they were one or 2 guys going out we would have moved them to the front of the line and got them launched so they could enjoy fishing on the lake like we did for the guy in the Nitro. But I explained that with 5 or 6 boats that was not the case and that they needed to yield and they did.

I hope you all enjoyed the STEAK that Lisa marinated, I saw a lot of steak sandwiches going by... Your donations make a difference to the food upgrade fund. Thanks to Lisa and her staff Naomi & Wendy for the great chow and drinks!

Now on to the fishing. I was hoping all day just to get a bite. Thank god for us Lisa got one! While we found it tuff others did too but they kept at it and were able to find a pattern to muster up some fish. We only had 4 limits which is low for this lake. The ramp was nice and I want to thank Larry Lacasse and Ed Sterns for helping get the boats loaded up and keep the ramp moving. The weigh-in again went really well and I don't think other than the first batch of boats that anyone had to wait much. I think the number system on the way out/in really kept things moving in order. Thanks to everyone for following the rules and making the weigh-ins flow smooth.

First place and thier second win of the year to Lentine/Frissora. They bested the field again and are now the team to beat as they are in 1st place overall!! Great limit and good job!! Second place is a team that has been flying under the radar this year, the Madera's with a nice limit moving them into a tie for 4th place overall. In 3rd place were the Nickerson's with only 6 fish anchored by Diana's 5 pounder! I always say good things happen to good people and good luck was flowing thier way this week in many areas! There is a great picture of this fish on the web. In 4th place coming out of the shadows were Andrews/Benjamim, yes our tournament staff can catch fish too! In 5th place Wiliams/Herr with some worrying by Paul, Steve made it with minutes to spare and they headed off to a nice finish and are tied for 4th overall.

The race for anglers of the year is heating up as we hit the rivers. While Robitaille/King are known to be the river "Kings" we know that Lentine/Frissora can kick it as well and let's not forgot about some teams flying under the radar.... Did you know Stevens/King with a guest appearance by Chip Malcom are in 2nd place? Bet you didn't... 3rd is Robitaille/King who I am sure are ready for action and then 4th is Williams/Herr and 5th the Madera's these 2 teams have been what I call quietly consisitent. There are many other notables still in stricking distance!

On a side note. My Costa Del Mar's have been found. It's a miracle. I don't know how they got where they were and why I never saw them there but I am very happy and thanks to all who gave me advise where to look! It's tuff getting old.

Brunell's is approaching. This again will be an out of the water weigh-in. We will be setup under the trees and we use the field to park except for the workers which will be near the weigh-in. We will use the numbers/paddels out as well as in. You have been doing great making sure the tourmament workers are out first. It may be HOT so again we want to try and do things so that as you park your boat you can bag'em and bring'em. Do not bag the fish till you park to reduce stress aon the fish and to keep the timing going. We will regulate if needed. Now that we are on the rivers. The speed limit is 45 unless weather dictates otherwise. There should be very little passing at take off. We only have a few boats with smaller motors and most of them can get to 45. If you drew a high number then you should be sitting in a wake. As a reminder, if you are passing boats at take-off you are more than likely speeding.

See you on the 27th !!

On a side note. I saw a place called Mitch's Marina on a recent motorcycle jaunt. I think it was on 47. Seemed like a nice facility. Anyone have experience with it and where on the river it is...

Thanks!!
